Cars Land, Anaheim

Night view of Los Angeles city lights from Griffith Observatory terrace

Cars Land is a breathtaking themed land where towering desert rock formations, glowing neon signs, and the beloved characters of Pixar's Cars bring the legendary highway town of Radiator Springs to life.

Located inside Disney California Adventure Park just beyond Pacific Wharf and steps from Avengers Campus, this immersive land recreates the American Southwest with astonishing detail. Walk through the entrance and the landscape opens into sweeping red-rock canyons that mirror the desert scenery of the film. Route 66-style storefronts line the main street while the sounds of revving engines and cheerful music echo through the valley. Classic cars cruise past neon diners, vintage gas stations, and roadside shops, making it feel as though the animated world of Radiator Springs has fully materialized in the middle of Anaheim.

Cars Land opened in 2012 as the centerpiece of Disney California Adventure's largest expansion, instantly becoming one of the most celebrated themed environments Disney has ever created.

Imagineers spent years studying the real landscapes of the American Southwest, including Arizona's Monument Valley and Route 66 roadside towns, to design the towering Cadillac Range mountains that define the land's skyline. The result is a highly detailed environment where architecture, signage, and even the pavement patterns reflect the roadside culture that inspired the Cars films. The land features three major attractions: Radiator Springs Racers, a thrilling race through the desert canyon; Mater's Junkyard Jamboree, a spinning dance ride set in a scrapyard; and Luigi's Rollickin' Roadsters, a whimsical trackless ride inspired by classic Italian cars. Restaurants and shops also carry the theme forward, transforming diners and garages from the film into functioning locations where guests can eat, shop, and explore.

Cars Land works beautifully as a centerpiece of a full day exploring Disney California Adventure Park.

Start by entering through the Pacific Wharf walkway between Avengers Campus and Pixar Pier, where the towering rock formations suddenly reveal themselves beyond the trees. Spend the afternoon exploring the land's attractions, browsing the themed shops, and grabbing a bite at Flo's V8 CafΓ© while the desert landscape glows in the California sun. As evening approaches, the neon signs flicker to life across Radiator Springs and the entire street transforms into a glowing roadside town that feels lifted straight from Route 66.
