Sambalatte, Las Vegas

Sambalatte is an elevated specialty coffeehouse where Summerlin's refined neighborhood character, artisan coffee culture, sustainable sourcing, and contemporary cafΓ© craftsmanship converge into one of Las Vegas' defining independent coffee destinations.

Set along South Rampart Boulevard near Alta Drive and just steps from Boca Park Fashion Village, the cafΓ© welcomes guests with the aromas of freshly roasted coffee, warm pastries, and hand-pulled espresso as an exhibition coffee bar, artisan roasting, and thoughtfully designed gathering spaces establish an atmosphere devoted to slowing down and appreciating exceptional coffee. Anticipation steadily builds as meticulously prepared espresso drinks, precision pour-overs, rare microlot coffees, and handcrafted cafΓ© fare reveal a menu shaped by origin, technique, and uncompromising quality. The defining moment arrives as disciplined extraction, balanced roasting, and genuine hospitality demonstrate how exceptional coffee begins long before it reaches the cup. The result is an experience defined by craftsmanship, sustainability, and one of Summerlin's most influential specialty coffee destinations.

Sambalatte is best known for opening its flagship Boca Park Fashion Village cafΓ© on September 1, 2010 under founder Luiz Claudio Oliveira, a Brazilian-born former Hyatt Hotels & Resorts executive who left an eighteen-year hospitality career after recognizing Las Vegas' lack of a European-style coffee lounge devoted to lingering over premium coffee rather than simply purchasing it to go. Oliveira spent years researching specialty coffee concepts throughout South America, Europe, and the United States before financing the business through his 401(k), private investors, and an original investment that ultimately approached $500,000, developing a concept built around ethically sourced microlot coffees, direct producer relationships, artisan roasting, and Rainforest Alliance principles. Expansion followed with a Jones Boulevard cafΓ©, the 3,300-square-foot Theater of Coffee at Monte Carlo Resort and Casino in 2014 featuring a glass-enclosed roasting facility, coffee laboratory, and live roasting demonstrations, a downtown location inside the Molasky Corporate Center in 2017, and a fourth cafΓ© within The Smith Center for the Performing Arts in 2018, while weekly small-batch roasting, rainbow latte art, hand-crafted pour-over brewing, low-acidity cold brew, and sustainably traceable coffees from Brazil and other producing regions established Sambalatte among Las Vegas' pioneering specialty coffee roasters. Oliveira's hospitality background, continual barista education, producer partnerships, environmentally conscious operating philosophy, and commitment to building a European-style coffee culture have made Sambalatte one of Southern Nevada's defining independent cafΓ© brands.

Bright espresso unfolds through notes of caramel, cocoa, citrus, and toasted nuts before velvety microfoam, fragrant vanilla, floral honey, and carefully textured milk create remarkable balance without masking the character of the coffee itself. Hand-crafted pour-overs, energetic cold brew, delicate teas, buttery pastries, fresh breakfast selections, house-made desserts, and colorful rainbow latte art broaden the progression through contrasting aromas and textures while allowing carefully roasted beans to remain the unmistakable focal point. Fresh seasonal beverages, expertly prepared espresso, artisan pastries, and attentive baristas complete an experience where patient roasting, disciplined brewing, and thoughtfully sourced coffee consistently shape every cup. Together, the roastery, espresso bar, and artisan cafΓ© express a culinary character defined by ethical sourcing, technical precision, and an enduring appreciation for exceptional coffee.
